PressPatrol
Privacy overview

Privacy should be part of the product architecture.

A plain-language overview of what the launch site and free plugin collect—and what they do not.

Last updated: August 10, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how the PressPatrol website and PressPatrol Free handle information. The paid PressPatrol monitoring service is not yet available; this policy will be updated before that service begins processing customer data.

PressPatrol Free

PressPatrol Free runs inside your own WordPress installation and stores its patrol settings, baselines, history, and reports in your WordPress database. It does not create a PressPatrol account and does not send your files, users, plugin and theme inventory, scan results, or email summaries to PressPatrol.

To compare installed software with official copies, the plugin contacts WordPress.org services using installed WordPress, plugin, and theme version identifiers. WordPress.org handles those requests under its own privacy practices.

Optional email summaries

If you enable weekly summaries, your own WordPress website sends the message to the address you choose using that website’s email configuration. The summary includes finding totals and a secure dashboard link, not detailed filenames or the exported JSON report. PressPatrol does not receive the message.

Information you submit

If you request early access, we store the name, work email address, management category, and optional site URL you submit. We use this information to evaluate early-access demand, invite suitable testing groups, communicate essential product updates, and respond to your request. We do not sell or rent this information.

Hosting and service providers

Our managed hosting and security providers may process ordinary operational data needed to deliver and protect this website, such as IP address, browser details, request time, requested URL, and security events. The site also requests font files from Google Fonts when pages load. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices.

Retention and security

We keep early-access information only while it is reasonably needed for the purposes above or until you ask us to delete it, unless a longer period is required for security, legal, or recordkeeping reasons. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete information you submitted, or opt out of nonessential launch communications. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as PressPatrol develops. Material changes will be reflected by a new “Last updated” date, and the policy for any paid monitoring service will be published before customer data is connected to that service.
